Terms of use

Draft. These are the rules as the app works today. It needs a lawyer's review before Alaskan launches.

What Alaskan is

Alaskan is a chat app where every contact is a bot. Some bots come with the app, some are built by people who use Alaskan, and some are companies' own services connected to it. Using Alaskan means you agree to these terms and to the privacy page.

Using bots

No objectionable content, no abuse

There's no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Report a bot from any of its messages or from its page, and block it to remove it from your phone. Moderators review reports and take down bots that break these rules.

Making bots

You're responsible for the bots you make and what they say. Don't make a bot that deceives people, scams, harasses, collects passwords or payment details, impersonates a real person or company, sends spam, or gives medical, legal or financial advice as if from a professional. Give it an honest age rating.

Bots that use AI, are rated 18+ or connect another service are checked by a moderator before anyone else can use them. We can reject, suspend or remove any bot. You keep the rights to what you make, and you let us host it and show it to the people who install it.

Connecting your service

If you connect your company's service, you keep hosting it and you're responsible for it. It receives what people send your bot, and their Alaskan IDs, and your own privacy policy covers that. We keep your key on our server and only use it to call your service for your bot. See Developers.

The rest

Alaskan is provided as it is, without warranties. We may change these terms; the date at the top says when they last changed. Questions: support@alaskan.ai.

For review: the company that offers Alaskan and the governing law; warranty and liability wording; how quickly reports are acted on (Apple expects objectionable content to be acted on within 24 hours); whether people must agree to these terms in the app before building a bot; and removing makers who break the rules, which needs accounts (today only their bots can be taken down).
